The Old Kirk

The Old Kirk is being restorated in phases as funding becomes available. The holes in the main roof have been repaired to prevent birds getting inside. New doors and windows have been fitted recently. At present lath and plaster is being replaced in damaged areas.

The New Kirk

The history of North Ronaldsay is documented by the North Ronaldsay Archive Project under the auspices of the North Ronaldsay Hertiage Trust.  The project has a year-round  display of historical documents situated at the New Kirk, which is open thoroughout the year.  Each year the project highlights  a featured exhibition on a selected theme.  Past themes have included a history of the wreck of the Svecia and local fishing.
